A student — who is not Jewish and who has never learned a melody for reciting Passover blessings — asked me to record a melody that I use. I like a happy melody for blessings. If you are familiar with the commonly known piece of music used for Jewish berachot (blessings), this is not that. However, I think you will like it and maybe decide to adopt it this year for your celebration.

Upon Lighting the Candles

Baruch attah Adonai, Eloheinu melek ha’olam asher kidashanu b’mitzotav vitizivanu l’hadlich ner shel Pesach. Amen.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by his commandments and commanded us to light the Passover lights. Amen.
